The Dr. Bill Lewis Center for Children provides neutral, child-friendly forensic interviews and interagency, comprehensive assessments of alleged victims of child sexual abuse or witnesses of violent crime. SCAN serves as the administrative agent for this nonprofit serving eight Indiana counties.

BookStart Fund


The BookStart Fund works to place books in the hands of young children throughout Fort Wayne. They partner with social service agencies to provide one book each month to the young children receiving services.

CHILL, Inc.


CHILL provides young adults, ages 18-25, with the social services they need to conduct their lives as independent adults. At this time, CHILL services are based out of The Courtyard, a permanent supportive housing complex for young adults who are homeless or aging out of the foster care system. SCAN serves as CHILL’s administrative agent.

 

United Front


Hope, passion, and a desire to see their own community improve in the areas of racial diversity and inclusion drove local leaders to create United Front; an initiative that provides a safe environment for participants to learn a shared humanity, a common language, and philosophy that will change the trajectory of the community for generations to come.

 

Alliance for Human Services


The Alliance for Human Services is a membership organization dedicated to improving the delivery of services in Allen County. The Alliance offers organizations opportunities to foster collaboration and strengthen the capacity for sustainable human services in Allen County.

 

Council on Accreditation


The Council on Accreditation (COA) has more than 40 years of experience in promoting best practice standards. They accredit the full continuum of child welfare, behavioral health and community-based human and social services for children, youth, adults and families. SCAN received accreditation from the C.O.A. in 2019.

 

The Indiana Association of Resources and Child Advocacy


The Indiana Association of Resources and Child Advocacy (IARCA) is a 501(c)(4) IRS classified nonprofit Association of concerned agencies who not only care for children and families, but also care about them. Founded in 1944, IARCA has made a commitment to service by bringing together a diverse group of providers into a cohesive organization, committed to the provision of quality services so that these children and families may lead healthy and productive lives in our communities.

 

Commission on Improving the Status of Children in Indiana


The Children’s Commission is part of the Indiana Legislature and tracks legislation affecting children and child-serving professionals and systems. They write and approve position statements broadly affecting the provision of child services in Indiana.

 

Prevent Child Abuse America

Prevent Child Abuse America is the nation’s oldest and largest organization committed to preventing child abuse and neglect before it happens. We promote programs and resources informed by science that enable kids, families, and entire communities to thrive—today, tomorrow, and for generations to come. ​SCAN holds the charter for Prevent Child Abuse America in Allen, LaGrange, Steuben, Noble, DeKalb, Whitley, Huntington and Wells county.

 

Children’s Bureau


The Children’s Bureau (CB) focuses on improving the lives of children and families through programs that reduce child abuse and neglect, increase the number of adoptions, and strengthen foster care.
