Daybreak - Hope & Healing

In a time of sudden changes, families often face extra stress. Donna’s recent hospitalization shifted her partner Jeremy into the position as the sole caretaker of their two children. After completing an evaluation with the hospital, it was determined that Donna would need to receive in-patient mental health treatment. This left Jeremy having a difficult time balance taking care of the family and his other responsibilities.

Around this time, the family got connected to SCAN’s Daybreak Crisis Homes. Daybreak was able to offer safe respite care to the children while Donna recovered and Jeremy sorted through his responsibilities. The children were able to play and bond with one another and did not have to miss any time at school while under the care of Daybreak. During this time, the couple’s oldest child, Sam, was also about to have their worries relieved as their mother was able to get the care she needed.
